FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's ice hockey team continued its stellar play Friday night at the SportONE/Parkview Ice House as they defeated North American Intercollegiate Hockey Association (NAIHA) foe Waldorf University, 9-1, to win their 13
th consecutive game and give head coach
Frank DiCristofaro his 100
th career win.
Francesco Corona put the Warriors on the scoreboard first at the 11:59 mark in the opening period while
Joel Holmberg made it a 2-0 game at the 7:56 mark. Waldrof cut the deficit to 2-1 with 14:49 to play in the second but Holmberg restored the two-goal advantage with his second goal of the night at the 7:16 mark.
Tech got into a groove in the third period as they scored six goals, with
Mike Tish scoring a pair just four minutes apart while Holmberg notched his third goal of the night on a power play with 9:20 left on the clock.
Ryan O'Toole improved to 9-3 on the season while
Nick Papandrea,
Alex Potter,
Kristian Alafriz and
Stavros Soilis all notched two assists.
Tech (18-3-0) returns to action on Saturday as they face off with Waldorf for the fourth and final time this season. Puck drop is set for 5:30 p.m. from the SportONE/Parkview Ice House.
