Five-Goal Second Half Powers Warriors Past Saints

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's soccer team extended its winning streak to five games with a 6-1 victory over Siena Heights University Saturday afternoon at Warrior Athletic Field.

Noe Garcia notched his first career hat trick for his seventh, eighth and ninth goals of the season while Luke Jones recorded a pair of assists.

The Saints were the first to strike as they took advantage of a bad clear from the Warriors in their own end to make it a 1-0 game in the 17th minute. Tech answered 12 minutes later as Jones found Jaxon Simerman inside the box for the equalizer.

That score would stand until the 56th minute as Garcia scored his first goal of the day with a laser into the upper 90 from the top of the box before being set up for his next two goals by Jones and Will Harris in the 65th and 67th minute, respectively.

James Ohms and Pablo Torne both notched their first goals of the season in the final 10 minutes of the match to cap the scoring with the 6-2 win and keep their conference record spotless.

Tech (8-4-0, 5-0-0 WHAC) returns to action on Wednesday, October 16 as they host Concordia University Ann Arbor. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. from Warrior Athletic Field.
