Warriors Can’t Hold Off Saints in Home Loss

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's soccer team fell to Siena Heights University, 3-1, on Saturday afternoon in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) action at Warrior Athletic Field.
 
Danielle Blagojevic put the Warriors ahead early as she corralled a rebound from an Elaina Monroe shot and weaved her shot in between two defenders and the goalie to score her first goal of the season in the 13th minute. The Saints came right back with a goal of their own though 12 minutes later as Elizabeth Ferguson hit one into the upper 90 on the right.
 
Siena Heights entered halftime with a 2-1 lead as they scored in the 42nd minute and the carried that momentum into the second half with four more shots on goal before making it a 3-0 game in the 65th minute.
 
Riley Stafford finished with 11 saves in the loss, tying her career-high, while Sydney Lemelin had two shots on goal.
 
Tech (4-8-0, 0-5-0 WHAC) returns to action on Wednesday, October 16 as they travel to Ann Arbor, Michigan for a matchup with Concordia University. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. from Cardinal Stadium.
