Warriors Stifle Gray Wolves in Shutout

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's soccer team defeated Lourdes University, 3-0, in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) action Wednesday evening at Warrior Athletic Field.
 
Jaxon Simerman, Brendan Sidaway and Luke Jones all scored for the Warriors with Pep Casas, Noe Garcia and Dean Ward all receiving credit for the assists. Edwin Rosado made three saves while recording his first clean sheet of the season while the Warriors outshot the Gray Wolves 15-3.
 
Tech controlled the action from the start as they had three shots on goal in the first 20 minutes of the match while another one hit the crossbar. Simerman put the hosts up 1-0 in the 38th minute as he headed in his first goal of the season off a free kick into the box from Casas.
 
Sidway made it a 2-0 game in the 56th minute while Jones capped the scoring with his second goal of the season just a minute later by firing one into the upper left hand corner of the goal from the far right side of the box.
 
Tech (5-4-0, 2-0-0 WHAC) returns to action on Saturday as they travel to Grand Rapids, Michigan for a battle with Cornerstone. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. from the Cornerstone Soccer Stadium.
