GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Indiana Tech men's soccer team extended its modest win streak to three games Saturday afternoon as they defeated Cornerstone University, 2-1, inside the CU Soccer Stadium.
Maxwell Amoako played the hero for the Warriors as he subbed into the game in the 89
th minute and promptly scored 30 seconds later and he sent it over the head of Cornerstone keeper Joshua Mitchell for his sixth goal of the season. The Warriors were also the first team to score on the day in addition to being the last team to score as
Noe Garcia would also score his sixth goal of the year with a laser in the 27
th minute to put the visitors up 1-0.
Tech's defense limited the Golden Eagles attack all day as they allowed just four shots in total and just two on goal, while the hosts did not attempt a single corner kick on the afternoon.
Tech (6-4-0, 3-0-0 WHAC) returns to action on Wednesday, October 9 as they head to Livonia, Michigan for a battle with No. 15-ranked Madonna University. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. from the Madonna Soccer and Lacrosse Field on the Madonna Athletic Campus.
