ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Indiana Tech women's volleyball team defeated Concordia University (Mich.), 3-0 (25-11, 25-19, 25-17), on Wednesday evening in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) action inside Cardinal Fieldhouse.

Olivia Niekamp led all players with 14 kills and hit .423 while Havilyn Cummings added 11 kills, five blocks and hit a match-high .667, recording just one error in 15 attempts. Madison Park dished out 23 assists as the Warriors hit .308 as a team while Madeline MacDonald had 29 digs.

The two sides traded the lead through the first eight points of the match, but the Warriors grabbed control of the first set with a 9-1 spurt to take a 12-5 lead. Tech continued to dominate the set as they held the Cardinals to single digits until the 31st serve of the match to make it a 21-10 game. Back-to-back kills from Madelyn Omo gave the visitors the win in the opening set.

Tech raced out to an 8-5 lead to begin the second set with Niekamp and Cummings each recording a pair of kills during the spurt. The Cardinals came back with a 3-0 run to tie the set up at 8-8, but the Warriors responded with a 3-0 spurt of their own to regain the lead. The Cardinals continued to hang with the Orange and Black and took an 18-17 lead, but a 6-0 run form the Warriors, with Niekamp responsible for three of the points, took a 23-18 advantage as they went out to win the set 25-19 and take a 2-0 lead.

After a slow start to begin the third set, the Warriors got back on track with a 7-3 run that gave them a 15-9 lead and caused the Cardinals to take a timeout. Concordia tried to get back in the set as they closed the gap to 19-15, but a 6-1 spurt from Tech closed out the set to give the visitors the 25-17 win and a sweep.

Tech (13-5, 5-3 WHAC) returns to action on Friday as they host Rochester University in a conference matchup. First serve is set for 7 p.m. from the Schaefer Center.
