FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indian Tech women's soccer team fell to No. 3-ranked University of Northwestern Ohio, 4-1, on Wednesday evening in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) play at Warrior Athletic Field.
The Racers came out of the gates quickly by scoring just four minutes into the match, but that would be all they would get in the opening half of play.
Lydia Miller had a rising shot in the 26
th minute that was stopped by UNOH keeper Lisa Venrath and
Stephanie Torres had a shot that went just left of the goal in the 47
th minute.
UNOH countered quickly by scoring in the 50
th minute as Julie Cazanave notched her second goal of the night before the visitors tack on insurance goals in the 64
th and 72
nd minutes. Jules Ciacico put the Warriors on the scoreboard in the 80
th minute with her first goal of the year as she got the ball away from Venrath and sent it home for the easy goal.
Tech keeper Emily Tippman made a career-high 16 saves in the loss.
Tech (4-11-0, 0-8-0 WHAC) returns to action on Saturday as they host Rochester University on Senior Day and their home finale. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. from Warrior Athletic Field.
