HOWELL, Mich. – The Indiana Tech women's soccer team fell to Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) foe Cleary University, 4-2, on Wednesday evening at Lake Trust Stadium.
Tech found itself down early as the Cougars scored just 36 seconds into the match and trailed 2-0 at the half after the hosts scored again in the 26
th minute. Cleary scored twice more in the first 25 minutes of the second half to take a 4-0 lead with under 30 minutes to play.
Megan Clifton put the Warriors on the scoreboard in the 68
th minute to give the visitors some momentum and while
Hadley Hopkins scored late to cut the deficit to 4-2, it would not be enough as the hosts held on to the victory.
Ally Zenda made 11 saves in goal for the Warriors while
Lily Rothert got the assist on Hopkins goal.
Tech (5-12-0, 1-9-0 WHAC) concludes the 2019 season on Saturday as they travel to the University of Michigan-Dearborn. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. from Gabriel Richard High School in Riverview, Michigan.
