HARTLAND, Mich. – The No. 3-ranked Indiana Tech men's ice hockey team defeated Cleary University, 8-2, Friday evening inside the Hartland Ice House.
Zach Bennett scored twice while
Francesco Corona netted a pair of assists in the win. Nine other Warriors tallied points while
Ryan O'Toole made 18 saves in the win.
Nick Papandrea put the Warriors up early with a goal just 100 seconds into the contest before Tech scored three goals in a 2:30 stretch to take a 4-0 lead into the first intermission. Bennett scored his first goal of the game 4:15 into the second to make it a 5-0 game before making it a 7-0 game just over five minutes into the third period with his second goal of the night.
Tech outshot the Cougars 47-20.
Tech (8-2-0) concludes their weekend trip to Cleary on Saturday with a 7:30 p.m. puck drop from the Hartland Ice House.
