HARTLAND, Mich. – The No. 3-ranked Indiana Tech men's ice hockey team completed a weekend sweep of Cleary University Saturday evening with a 10-1 victory inside the Hartland Ice House to extend their winning streak to five games.
Zach Bennett tallied a pair of goals, including one of the power play, in the first period as Tech took a 3-0 lead into the first intermission, with
Matej Krasny scoring the other Warrior goal. After tacking on another goal in the second from
Nick Papandrea, the Orange and Black netted six more goals in the third to put the game out of reach.
Bennett finished the game with three goals for his first hat trick of the season while
Nick Trefry, Papandrea and
Francesco Corona all tallied three assists. Krasny scored twice while
Bryson Linenburg improved to 6-0 on the season with 16 saves.
Tech (9-2-0) returns to conference play this weekend as they take on Rochester University on home ice. Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m. from the SportONE/Parkview Ice House.
