Wilson Ties Solberg For Most Wins in Program History as Tech Sweeps Rochester

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. – The Indiana Tech women's volleyball team swept Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) foe Rochester University, 25-13, 25-13, 25-14) Friday evening inside Garth Pleasant Arena and with the win, head coach Kourtney Wilson tied Kirsta Solberg (2007-11) for the most wins in program history with her 160th career victory.
 
Havilyn Cummings had a match-high 10 kills while hitting .750 and recording two blocks. Allison Cole had nine kills on .600 hitting while Madelyn Omo hit .875 with seven kills. Madison Park dished out 20 assists and three service aces while Madeline MacDonald had 14 digs.
 
The two teams battled back and forth through the first nine points of the match, with Tech holding a 5-4 advantage before going on an 11-4 spurt to take control of the opening set with a 16-8 lead. Following a timeout from Rochester with the visitors leading 18-11, the Orange and Black ended the set on a 7-2 run to take the first set and finished with a .536 attack percentage.
 
The Warriors raced out to a 10-1 lead in the second set and rattled off seven straight points during the run. Rochester cut the deficit down to 13-7 following a 6-3 spurt and made it a 17-12 game, but the Orange and Black took the last six points, three coming off the serve of Park, of the set to go up 2-0 with a 25-13 win.
 
Tech started the third set on an 8-2 run to gain control and never looked back. A 9-2 run from the visitors extended their lead to 20-8 while a 4-0 spurt completed the sweep for the Warriors with a 25-14 win.
 
Tech (24-8, 11-6 WHAC) returns to action Saturday as they battle No. 23-ranked Lawrence Technological University in their final road match of the regular season. First serve is set for 11 a.m. from Don Ridler Field House.
