Five Goal Third Pushes Warriors Past Cardinals

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The No. 5-ranked Indiana Tech men's ice hockey team ran its winning streak to eight games Friday evening with a 9-1 victory over Concordia University (Mich.) in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) action at the SporteONE/Parkview Icehouse.

"We need to play all 60 minutes tomorrow," said head coach Frank DiCristofaro said.

Zach Bennett, Joel Holmberg and Matej Krasny each scored twice while Bennett and Cam Chabot both had three assists. Bryson Linenburg improve to 8-0 on the season with 22 saves while picking up the win.

The Cardinals struck first as Tristan Waechter put one past Linenburg just 58 seconds into the game to take control early. Krasny knotted the game up at 1-1 though with a goal at the 14:39 mark. Mike Tish put the Warriors up 2-1 at the 7:52 mark in the period while Bennett and Francesco Corona each lit the lamp in the final two minutes of the period to give Tech a 4-1 lead after 20 minutes of play.
