CHELSEA, Mich. – The No. 5-ranked Indiana Tech men's ice hockey team ran its winning streak to nine games Saturday evening inside Arctic Coliseum as they defeated Concordia University (Mich.), 6-1, in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) action.
Zach Bennett scored four times for the Warriors while
Francesco Corona and
Joel Holmberg each had three assists.
Ryan O'Toole improve to 5-2 on the season with 19 saves.
Bennett notched the first goal of the game at the 11:44 mark in the first while
Filip Schultz made it a 2-0 contest just six minutes into the second period. After the Cardinals trimmed the deficit to 2-1 with four minutes left in the second, the Warriors responded with a 4-0 third period to run away with the game.
Ryan Attwood made it 3-1 at the 18:49 mark while Bennett would get his second goal of the night just 70 seconds later before scoring his final two goals of the game in 21 seconds in the last six minutes of the game.
Tech (14-2-0, 10-1-0 WHAC) takes a break from conference action in their next game as they welcome in the University of Toledo for a home-and-home series. Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m. on Friday, November 22 from the SportONE/Parkview Icehouse.
