Tech Defeats Rochester For Seventh Straight Win

FRASER, Mich. – The No. 4-ranked Indiana Tech men's ice hockey team defeated Rochester University, 5-2, Saturday afternoon in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) action inside Fraser Hockeyland.

"Our special teams weren't the greatest today, but I'm proud of our guys battling through a short turnaround time from last night's game," head coach Frank DiCristofaro said.

Joel Holmberg put the Warriors on the scoreboard first at the 13:06, while Mike Tish broke a 1-1 tie at the 7:48 mark in the second to put Tech up 2-1. Cameron Wirick made it a 3-1 game in favor of the Orange and Black just over 90 seconds away from the second intermission on a short-handed opportunity.

Bobby Frieson made it a 4-1 game just under four minutes into the third while Zach Bennett made it a 5-2 game at the 4:25 mark in the third to respond to a Rochester goal scored just over a minute before.

Ryan O'Toole made 12 saves in the win to improve to 4-2 on the season while seven different Warriors recorded assists on the day.
