Box Score ATHENS, Ohio – The No. 6-ranked Indiana Tech men's ice hockey team saw its 11-game win streak come to an end Friday evening as they lost to No. 8-ranked Ohio, 6-3, inside Bird Ice Arena.
Francesco Corona,
Cameron Wirick and
Ryan Attwood all found the back of the net in the loss while
Ryan O'Toole made 40 saves.
The Warriors jumped all over the Bobcats in the opening period as Corona netted his 10
th goal of the season 49 seconds into the game while Wirick made it a 2-0 game five minutes later. Attwood answered Ohio's first goal of the night with 12 second left in the second to give Tech a 3-1 lead after 20 minutes of action.
The hosts exploded for five goals in the final 20 minutes of play, scoring three within the first four minutes of the period to take a 4-3 lead. Ohio made it a 5-3 game with nine minutes left to play while they sealed the game with their sixth goal of the night with 30 seconds left in the contest.
Tech (15-3-0) concludes their fall semester schedule Saturday against Ohio on the road. Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m. from Bird Ice Arena.
