FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's ice hockey team defeated North American Intercollegiate Hockey Association (NAIHA) rival Waldorf University, 6-0, on Saturday evening at the SportONE/Parkview Ice House to run its winning streak to 14 games, the longest in program history.
Adam Jonak put the Warriors up 1-0 at the 4:50 mark in the first while Tech scored three goals in the first two minutes of the second period to go up 4-0.
Stavros Soilis made it 2-0 just 32 seconds into the period while
Zach Bennett and
Jarrett Pfeiffer scored 33 seconds apart at 18:36 and 18:03, respectively.
Joel Holmberg made it a 5-0 game with 12:26 to play in the second while Bennett notched a power play goal with 10:35 to go in the period to make it a 6-0 game.
Bryson Linenburg made 12 saves to notch his third career shutout while Jonak and Pfeiffer each had three assists.
Tech (19-3-0) returns to action on Friday, February 8 as they travel to NAIHA foe Lindenwood University – Belleville for a weekend set. Puck drop is set for 8:50 p.m. EST from the Shark Tank.
