FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's ice hockey team defeated Midland University, 6-3, Saturday evening in North American Intercollegiate Hockey Association (NAIHA) action inside the SportONE/Parkview Ice House. The Warriors have now won 18 straight games.
Tech scored two goals in the first two minutes of the game as
Cameron Wirick and
Alex Potter gave the Warriors the early lead. Midland cut the deficit in half with 7:54 to play in the first but
Mike Tish restored the two-goal lead with a power play goal just over a minute later.
The visiting Warriors were in full control in the second as they scored two goals in the opening three minutes to tie the game up at 3-3, but
Adam Jonak put the Orange and Black back up with eight minutes left in the period.
Felix Kronwall made it 5-3 Tech with 13:10 to play in the third while
Blake Cudmore scored an empty netter with 2:42 to go to cap the scoring.
Bryson Linenburg improve to 12-0-0 on the season with 21 saves.
Adam Vannelli and
Alex Gregorich each netted two assists.
Tech (23-3-0) returns to action on Sunday, February 17 as they conclude their three-game set with Midland. Puck drop is set for 2 p.m. from the SportONE/Parkview Ice House.
