LEXINGTON, Ky., AKRON, Ohio & MARION, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's track and field team completed a busy weekend as they competed in three different meets, the Rod McCravy Memorial at the University of Kentucky, the Akron Invitational and the IWU Midwest Classic.

Seven Warrior men hit eight different NAIA "A" or "B" standards over two days, with
Brandon Smiley running a season-best 21.19 (converted to 21.57 for qualifying) in the 200 meters to hit the automatic qualifying standard and finishing in sixth. He now holds the top-mark in the NAIA.
Kejavon Moore and
John Jones would hit the "A" standard in the 60m with times of 6.82 and 6.84 while Moore ran a 21.78 to also hit the automatic qualifying standard.
Coby Bailey took seventh in the 60m hurdles with an "A" standard time of 8.21.

Matt Lockridge took third in the 60m with a time of 6.84 to set a season-best and the seventh-best mark in the nation.
Gairy Springer finished first in the 400m Blue Division with a time of 49.54 while Chale McLeod was third in the 400m Gold Division with a provisional time of 48.91.
Kudzanai Karawira was first in the 3000m with a "B" standard time of 8:37.14 and second in the mile with a time of 4:19.05. The 4x400m relay of McLeod, Springer,
Xavier Williams and
Theo White hit the "A" standard in 3:18.55.
Peyton Phillips won the long jump with a career-best and provisional mark of 2.01m/6-7 while
Malik Johnson was third in the triple jump with an automatic standard of 14.24m/46-8.75.

The distance medley relay of
Alex Rodriguez,
Justin Fleming, Desire Akpoli and
Jake Willison ran a 10:42.38 to win the event while Zaiver Allen hit the provisional mark of 14.19m/46-6.75 to take second.
Jared Wells finished fifth in the 5000m with a time of 16:31.27.
Tech returns to action on Friday, February 8 with the Grand Valley State Big Meet. Action is set for 10 a.m. from Kelly Family Sports Center.
