FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's and women's track teams opened their 2025-26 indoor season this weekend competing in three meets, including the Blue & Gold Invitational, the Scott Fangman Invitational, and the GVSU Holiday Open. The Warriors would show out in the first opportunity of the season with two class records, three new program top ten all-time marks, five event wins, and 19 individual personal records.

Bronwyn Nel would all hit NAIA 'A' standards over the weekend, while
Javion Westfield,
Nic Tozer,
Jackie Saye,
James Thornton IV,
K'Leigh Davis,
Junae Bennett,
Viviana Rodriguez, and the women's 4x400m relay team of
Giselle Uvieghara, Bennett, Davis, and Taylor would pick up NAIA 'B' standards.

Men:
- Javion Westfield led the Warrior platoon in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.13 as Tech took the top four spots: Nic Tozer (8.16), Jackie Saye (8.18), and Rodnico Carrington (8.22). Westfield, Tozier, and Saye would all hit NAIA 'B' standard marks
- James Barragan (2nd) and Caleb Stuart (9th) would both finish in the top ten of the men's 200m; Barragan finished in 21.73, while Stuart set a PR with a time of 22.06
- In the 400m, Brayden Smith finished 6th in 49.14 as five Warriors also finished between 10th and 16th
- Lyonell Castillo won the 800m race in 1:55.90, followed closely by teammates Flemming Lasse Timmerhans (3rd – 1:56.35) and Waval Davis (4th – 1:57.11)
- McKale Hood took fourth in the high jump, clearing 1.96m
- The Warriors would take three of the top four spots in the long jump; Damien Keys won the event with a NAIA 'A' standard jump of 7.35m, while Kameron Bailey finished second (7.06m) and Woodrow Smith finished fourth (6.88m)
- Keys also finished second in the triple jump with a mark of 13.75m
- Jacob Kavicky set a PR in the weight throw, finishing sixth with a mark of 16.57m
Women:
- Four Warriors would finish in the top ten of the 60m hurdles, led by Kaily Pratt (3rd – 9.03), Kayla Rorie (4th – 9.04), Greta Hornlein (8th – 9.11), and Denise Turpin (10th – 9.20)
- K'Leigh Davis finished second in the 200m (24.94) hitting an NAIA 'B' standard, while Gabrielle Hoskins finished seventh (25.85)
- Tech would dominate in the 400m; Tamia Taylor would win the race with an NAIA 'A' standard and PR of 56.19, also setting the #8 mark in program history. She was followed by Junae Bennett picking up an NAIA 'B' standard and finishing in third at 57.00 and Abby Plezia finishing in seventh at 59.53, with four more Warriors finishing in the top 15
- In the long jump, Emerson Harper hit an NAIA 'A' standard and finished in second place with a mark of 5.83m
- The women's 4x400m relay team of Giselle Uvieghara, Junae Bennett, K'Leigh Davis, and Tamia Taylor cruised to an NAIA 'B' standard and third place finish with a time of 3:54.67

Grand Valley State Holiday Open meet highlights:
- Giulio Romano set the program's #2 all-time mark in the men's 3k with a time of 8:30.19, which is also the new junior class indoor school record
- Bronwyn Nel hit an NAIA 'A' standard in the women's 5k, setting the program's #3 all-time indoor mark and the freshman class school record for the indoor 5k in 17:25.10
- Sarah Koker hit a 30+ second PR in the women's 3k, running a 10:57.16
