Warriors Take Down Gray Wolves for Conference Win

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The No. 3-ranked Indiana Tech men's lacrosse team defeated Lourdes University, 9-6, on Saturday evening in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) play at Warrior Athletic Field.
 
Chandler Peterson knotted the game up at 2-2 with one minute left in the first quarter that sparked a 4-0 run for the Warriors. Joe Solin scored on the man-advantage 14 seconds into the second          to put up Tech 3-0 while Peterson added his second goal of the game with 10:07 to play on the extra-man opportunity.
 
Peterson put the hosts up 6-3 with 32 seconds into the third that started a 4-0 run for the Warriors that was capped by Peterson with 12:14 left in the game to make it a 9-3 game. Lourdes scored three times in a minute-stretch towards the end of the game, but the Orange and Black tightened up their defense to preserve the win.
 
Peterson finished the game with five goals while Jordan Reyes caused five turnovers. Evan Schuster made eight saves in the win.
 
Tech (11-2, 5-1 WHAC) returns to action on Wednesday as they host Taylor University. Opening faceoff is set for 7 p.m. from Warrior Athletic Field.
