FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The No. 3-ranked Indiana Tech men's lacrosse team fell to No. 1-ranked Madonna University, 10-7, on Wednesday evening in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) action inside Warrior Athletic Field.
The Crusaders came out firing in the first quarter as they scored the first four goals of the game and outshooting the Warriors 11-4.
Joe Solin put the Warriors on the scoreboard with 3:21 to go in the first on the man-advantage while
Chandler Peterson capped a three-goal period for Tech with one second left in the opening half to make it a 5-4 game.
Madonna outscored the hosts 3-1 in the third to regain the momentum and kept the Warriors at bay over the final 30 minutes of the game as the Orange and Black couldn't get the deficit to under three.
Noah Puckett finished with a game-high three goals while
Jordan Reyes had five ground balls and four caused turnovers.
Evan Schuster made 12 saves in the cage.
Tech (8-2, 2-1 WHAC) returns to action on Saturday as they take on Lawrence Tech. Opening faceoff is set for 4:30 p.m. from Farmington Hills Harrison High School.
