Tech Dominates Pilots for WHAC Victory

MISHAWAKA, Ind. – The No. 5-ranked Indiana Tech women's lacrosse team defeated Bethel College, 19-3, in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) action Wednesday evening at Morey Field.
 
Bailey Childs got the offense going early as the NAIA's National Defensive Player of the Week put Tech on the scoreboard just 78 seconds into the game. After the Pilots got on the board with 20:45 to play in the first half, Tech rattled off four goals over the next three minutes to extend their lead to 6-1 with 17:10 to go until intermission. The Warriors closed out the half on a 6-0 run over the last six and a half minutes to take a 13-3 lead into the locker room.
 
The Warriors tacked on six more goals in the second half while shutting out the Pilots for their fifth straight victory. Childs and Jennifer Banks each scored a game-high four goals while Childs added two assists, two ground balls and four draws. Sydney Davis made four saves in the cage to pick up the win while Abbey Wilson had two goals, three ground balls and four draws.
 
Tech (6-2, 4-0 WHAC) returns to action on Saturday as they host Rochester in a conference matchup. Opening draw is set for 2 p.m. from Warrior Athletic Field.
