INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Tech men's soccer team fell to in-state rival Marian University, 2-1, on Tuesday evening at St. Vincent Field in their first road match of the season.
 
The first half was an even-keel affair with both teams recording three shots on goal, but the hosts scored with four minutes left in the period with a header to take a 1-0 lead into the break.
 
Noe Garcia knotted the game up at 1-1 in the 55^th minute while Luke Jones had a trio of shots on frame, but two were stopped by the Knights keeper Kim Schwensen while an MU defender managed to keep one from going into the back of the net in the 70^th minute.
 
The two teams continued to battle back and forth over the next 20 minutes until Tech fell victim to an own goal in the 89^th minute to give the hosts the victory.
 
Rosado finished the match with three saves while Jones had four shots on goal.
 
Tech (1-1) returns to action on Saturday as they continue their four-game road trip against Indiana Wesleyan. Kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m. from the IWU Soccer Field.
