Tech Struck Down by Lancers in Road Loss

WINONA LAKE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's soccer team fell to No. 16-ranked Grace College, 5-2, Wednesday evening at 1st Source Bank Field.

The Lancers struck early and often in the contest by scoring in the seventh and 19th minutes to go up 2-0 and recorded six shots on goal in the first 25 minutes of the match. Tech cut the deficit in half in the 25th minute as Kayla Saffran found Elaina Monroe for her second career goal.

Grace continued to extend their advantage in the second half with two more goals in the first 20 minutes of the period and while Bailey Elliott gave the Warriors some late life with a goal in the 71st minute to make it a 4-2 game, it would not be enough to start a comeback as the Orange and Black suffered their second consecutive loss.

Ally Zenda made seven saves in the loss.

Tech (4-2-0) returns to action on Saturday as they end a three-game road trip against Goshen College. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. from the Goshen College Soccer Complex.
