Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Warriors Cut Down By Foresters

HUNTINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's soccer team fell to regional rival Huntington University, 1-0, Wednesday evening at King Stadium.

The Warriors controlled the action early as they had three corner kicks in the first 10 minutes of the game while Malte Dennert had two chances nullified by the Forester defense. The rest of the first half produced only a few scoring chances with just one shot on frame as the two sides headed into the halftime scoreless.

After a contentious back-and-forth start to the second half, Huntington would score the lone goal of the match in the 51st minute. Dennert had three more opportunities to score in the next seven minutes, but two chances would be stopped by a Huntington defender while his final shot on frame would be saved the Forester keeper. The Warriors continued to press the action, but could not find the equalizer as they dropped their third consecutive game, all of which have been by one goal.

Dennert finished the match with five shots on goal while Ivan Safranic made two saves in the loss.

Tech (1-3-0) concludes their four-game road trip next Wednesday as they make the short trip to Spring Street for a battle with the University of Saint Francis. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. from Bishop D'Arcy Stadium.
