FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's soccer team opened up the home slate of its 2020-21 schedule Saturday evening with a 2-0 victory over Lawrence Technological University in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) action at Warrior Athletic Field.
Jaxon Simerman put the home team on the scoreboard in the 35
th minute as hit shot went in off the crossbar after receiving a pass from
Maxwell Amoako. The Warriors put their second goal on the scoreboard in the 63
rd minute as
Noe Garcia stole the ball in LTU's defensive end and scored in the lower left corner of the goal.
The Blue Devils were never able to threaten during the match, recording just two shots on goal, including just one in the second half, and just seven shots in all.
Juame Salvado made two saves to pick up the win.
Tech (2-0-0, 2-0-0 WHAC) returns to action on Saturday, October 17 as they head to Rochester University. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. from Ultimate Soccer Arena in Pontiac, Michigan.
