Warriors Unlucky in One-Goal Loss

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's soccer team found itself on the wrong end of a one-goal match Saturday afternoon at Warrior Athletic Field, falling 1-0 to Lawrence Technological University in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) action. It is the fourth straight one-goal loss for the Warriors.

The match was even all afternoon on a windy fall day in the Summit City, with each team recording 17 shots, with the visitors getting seven on goal while the hosts ended the match with eight on frame. The lone goal to find its way past either keeper came in the 48th minute as LTU's Jenny Dear was fed a pass at the top of the box and shot it past Warrior goalie Christina Wynn.

Dani Blagojevic had a chance to tie the match just eight minutes later, but was stopped by Rebecca Almandoz. Blagojevic would get two more chances in the waning minutes of the game with her first shot being stopped by Almandoz in the 89th minute while she had a shot hit the crossbar with less than a minute to play as the Blue Devils were able to escape with three points.

Wynn finished the game with six saves while Blagojevic had four shots on target. Lily Rothert had two shots on goal.

Tech (0-4-0, 0-2-0 WHAC) returns to action on Saturday, October 17 as they head to Rochester University for a conference matchup. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. from Ultimate Soccer Arena in Pontiac, Michigan.
