FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's soccer team fell to Olivet Nazarene University, 2-1, Monday evening at Warrior Athletic Field in their final nonconference match of the fall season.
The game was scoreless until the 55
th minute when the Warriors fell victim to an unlucky clear attempt in their own box that ended up in the back of the net to put the Tigers up 1-0 while the visitors extended their lead to 2-0 10 minutes later when Sara Loichinger blasted one in from 18 yards out.
Tech got some life late in the match when
Dani Blagojevic found
Bailey Elliott down the left sideline, who slotted the ball from the Tigers goalkeeper to make it a one-goal game in the 79
th minute. The Orange and Black continued to push the action over the last 10 minutes of the game and had a chance to tie it at the buzzer but the shot from
Jordan Brown-Mundey was stopped right before the horn.
Christina Wynn made 14 saves in the tough loss while
Molly Ames had a team-high two shots on net.
Tech (1-5-0) returns to action on Saturday, October 31 as they host Cornerstone University in their final match of the fall. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. from Warrior Athletic Field.
