FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's soccer team closed outs the fall portion of its conference schedule Saturday afternoon with a 2-1 victory over Cornerstone University on Senior Day at Warrior Athletic Field.

Bailey Elliott got the scoring going early with her third goal of the season just five minutes into the match as classmate
Lily Rothert sent a through ball through the left side of the box and Elliott volleyed into the back of the net. The score stood for 35 minutes until Cornerstone's Sierah Adams knotted the game up at 1-1.
The Golden Eagles appeared poised to take the lead in the early minutes of the second half as they managed to fire off four shots, but senior goalkeeper
Christina Wynn only saw one come on target and she was able to keep the score tied up. Senior
Kayla Saffran put the Warriors up for good in the 60
th minute as she intercepted a clear attempt by CU's goalie and chipped the ball into the net from 30 yards out to notch her second goal of the year.
The visitors had a number of chances to find the equalizer, but were stopped four times by Wynn while they had another shot go off the crossbar in the 88
th minute and Tech was able to weather a late charge to notch three points in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) standings. Wynn finished the game with eight saves to notch the win.
Tech (2-5-0, 2-2-0) concludes their fall slate on Wednesday, November 4 as they host the University of Saint Francis in their annual crosstown rivalry game. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. from Warrior Athletic Field.
