Warriors End Conference Slate with Rout

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The No. 8-ranked Indiana Tech men's volleyball team defeated Concordia University, 11-1, Saturday evening in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) action inside the SportONE/Parkview Icehouse. The Warriors end their 2019-20 conference schedule with 16 wins and 32 points, two ahead of the University of Michigan-Dearborn, who has two games left in their conference slate.
 
Joel Holmberg notched his fourth hat trick of the season and added two assists for a team-best five points. Ryan Attwood scored twice in the win while Francesco Corona dished out four assists. Zach Bennett and Fabian Granqvist also had two assists while Bryson Linenburg made 14 saves in the win. It's the sixth time this season Tech has scored double-digit goals.
 
Holmberg started off the scoring early with his first goal of the night just 88 seconds into the game. Blake Cudmore doubled the lead at the 8:18 mark while Alex Potter converted the first of three power play goals of the night for the Warriors with 3:20 left in the period.
 
Nick Papandrea extended his points streak to eight games with a power play goal at 13:39 in the second while Attwood netted his first goal of the night two minutes later. Attwood would get his second scored with one second remaining in the second on a short-handed opportunity while Holmberg scored twice in the third to get the hat trick.
 
Tech (24-7-0, 16-4-0 WHAC) returns to action next weekend as they close out the regular season with a home-and-home set against Western Michigan in the I-69 Cup. Puck drop is set for 8:30 p.m. from Wings West Arena.
