FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The No. 8-ranked Indiana Tech men's ice hockey team ended the regular season on a note Saturday evening as they defeated Western Michigan, 7-1, on Senior Night inside the SportONE/Parkview Icehouse.
Francesco Corona scored twice and tallied two assists in the win while
Ryan Attwood had two assists and one goal.
Joel Holmberg notched two assists while
Bryson Linenburg recorded his 15
th with of the season with 23 saves.
Corona put Tech on the scoreboard at the 15:26 mark in the first while Attwood made it a 2-0 game with under four minutes to go in the period.
Blake Cudmore and
Zach Bennett would both find the back of the net in the second to put the Warriors up 4-0 while the Warriors scored three more times in the third to pull away from the Stallions.
Tech (25-8-0) now turns its attention to postseason play with the 2020 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Tournament. The Warriors will be the number two seed and earn a bye to the semifinals, where they will face off with Concordia or Lawrence Tech. Puck drop is set for 8 p.m. from Farmington Hills Ice Arena in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
