Warriors Cut Down Foresters in Rout

LOGANSPORT, Ind. – The No. 9-ranked Indiana Tech baseball team defeated Huntington University, 19-5, Tuesday afternoon in their "home" opener at Logansport High School.

Reese Olden went 4-5 with a double and four runs while Christian De Los Santos went 3-5 with two runs and three RBI a home run and a double. Michael Oliger and Jacob Daftari also went yard for the Warriors and drove in four runs each. Tyler Stacy went four innings on the mound in relief to pick up the win with four strikeouts while Landon Bloir went the final two innings and allowed just one walk.

After trailing 2-0 in the top of the first, the Warriors came back to tie the game with an RBI double from Olden and a single from Mike Snyder. A two-RBI double from Spencer McGhee put Tech up 5-2 in the second while De Los Santos launched a three-run bomb three batters later to make it an 8-2 game.

Huntington tacked on single runs in the third and fourth, but Tech responded with crooked numbers in their final four innings of hitting, with Ashtin Moxey recoding a pinch-hit two-RBI double in the seventh and Oliger launched a pinch-hit grand slam in the eighth.

Tech (8-2) returns to action on Friday, March 7 as they start their spring break trip against Thomas University. First pitch of the doubleheader is set for 12 p.m. from Varndoe Stadium.
