GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Vernon Willis of men's wrestling went 2-0 to be named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Wrestler of the Week. Ranked No. 17, the senior recorded a pair of pins against Marian (Ind.) and Thomas More (Ky.).

Against Marian, Willis had an early takedown for two points before the action went out of bounds to reset the wrestlers at the middle of the mat. Delph attempted to escape but was returned to the mat by Willis followed by Willis rolling Delph to his back and pinning him for the 34-12 match victory for the Warriors. Against Thomas More, the Warriors were down 22-20 heading into the heavyweight match between Willis and Wahl. Wahl had an early takedown for two points before Willis pulled the reversal to tie it 2-2. In the second period, Willis gets another reversal for two more points to lead 4-2 which he turned into a pin in 3:56 to earn six points for the Warriors and win the match 26-22.
