Warriors Get to Double Digit Win Mark with Victory over Lincoln

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's basketball team defeated Lincoln College 66-52 Thursday evening inside the Schaefer Center for their fourth straight win and eighth consecutive victory on their home floor.

Josh Kline had a game-high 15 points, 11 rebounds, two assists and two blocks, while Rog Stein had 14 points, 13 rebounds, five assists and two steals. Max Perez added 13 points and four rebounds while Jeremy Davison and David Froedge had seven points each off the bench.

Both teams struggled to find their rhythm on the offensive side of the court early on, with the Lynx going just 9-32 in the first half, including just 1-9 from downtown, while the Warriors did find their stride to the tune of a 12-27 performance over the first 20 minutes of play. Trailing 4-1 early on, a bucket from Stein propelled Tech to a 7-0 run and an 8-4 lead at the 13:07 mark. A basket by the Lynx at the 12:21 mark snapped a 5:57 scoring drought for the visitors, who battled back to go ahead 11-10 at the 9:40 time stamp. A triple from Froedge knotted the game up at 16 with 6:47 on the clock and was followed up by a massive put-back dunk and sequential free throw for the three-point play by Josh Kline on the Warriors next possession put them back up 19-16 and they never looked back. The Orange and Black proceeded to go on a 21-7 spurt over the finals seven minutes of the half to take a 34-23 lead into the locker room.

Tech continued to slowly grow their lead in the second half, pushing the advantage up to 14 points by the 10:40 mark thanks to an 8-3 spurt. The Warriors kept the lead in double digits for all by 63 seconds of the half until an 8-0 run from the Lynx made it a 56-49 game with 4:11 to play. A jumper from Davison stopped the run and snapped a 2:45 scoring drought for Tech that propelled the Orange and Black to a 10-3 run over the final four minutes of the game to seal the 66-52 win over the hosts, with the three points for Lincoln coming off a triple in the waning seconds of the game that snapped a 4:09 scoring drought.

Tech (10-6) returns to Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) action Wednesday as they travel to Lourdes University for their first road since December 30. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. from the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.
