Warriors Battle Racers to Scoreless Draw

LIMA, Ohio – The No. 9-ranked Indiana Tech men's soccer team battled its way to a 0-0 draw with the University of Northwestern Ohio Wednesday afternoon at Racer Stadium. The draw snapped a seven-game winning streak for the Warriors but the team ran its unbeaten streak in conference games to 31.

In a physical match that saw 18 cautions given and 33 fouls between the two rivals, both teams combined for just eight shots on goal over the 110 minutes. The Racers got the first shot on goal  six minutes into the game and had two more before the end of the half as they limited Tech to just two total shots.

Jaume Salvado made a fourth save on a penalty shot in the 54th minute to keep the game scoreless while Luke Jones had three shots on frame in the final 30 minutes of regulation but was stopped all three times by Rafael Lima. Neither side was able to get a shot on target in either of the overtime periods as the Warriors got their first tie of the season.

Salvado made five saves for his sixth shutout of the season.

Tech (11-1-1, 5-0-1 WHAC) returns to action Saturday as they travel to Cornerstone University. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. from the CU Soccer Stadium.
