FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Indiana Tech women's soccer team was defeated by the unbeaten Madonna Crusaders, 6-1, Wednesday evening at Warrior Athletic Field.
The Warriors were hanging tough until the 35-minute mark when Madonna put one through the net to make it 1-0.
The Crusaders are known for their stout defense and goalkeeping, having only given up just a single goal throughout the entire season - Indiana Tech scored the second when
AnnaBella Kowalczyk scored her third goal of the season off of the assist from
Lily Rothert. The Warriors would go into halftime down 2-1 after a late goal from the Crusaders. Madonna would take command of the game after the intermission, scoring four straight goals to close out Tech, with the final score being 6-1.
The visiting Crusaders would outshoot the Warriors, 31-6,
Michaela Bitle had six saves on the night.
Tech (5-6, 1-3 WHAC) will take on Siena Heights (8-2-1, 3-1 WHAC) this Saturday at 3 p.m. at Warrior Athletic Field for Warriors for Kids - Wear Red Day.
