OXFORD, Ohio – The Indiana Tech women's ice hockey team ended its opening weekend of Central Collegiate Women's Hockey Association (CCWHA) play Saturday with a 2-1 win over Miami University inside the Goggin Ice Center.
Both of the Warriors goals came in the first period thanks to
Mikayla Kalverda and
Ashley Episcopo.
Izzy Varner came 11 minutes within her first collegiate shutout but finished the night with 33 saves in net.
Tech (3-1-1, 2-0-0 CCWHA) returns to action October 15 as they host Penn State University in conference play. Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m. from the SportONE/Parkview Icehouse.
