FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Indiana Tech women's ice hockey team earned another win Friday night as they defeated the Miami RedHawks, 4-1 at SportONE/Parkview Icehouse.
Arika Trentor would be the first to light the lamp for the Warriors on the night, as she gave the hosts a 1-0 lead at the 6:28 mark. In the second period, it was
Megan Yakiwchuk who would score on an unassisted goal at the 10:22 mark.
Izzy Pettem-Shand would score her team-leading third goal of the season at the 18:41 mark off of the assists from
Dakota Bowler and
Megan Yakiwchuk.
Hailey Anderson would close out the scoring for the Orang and Black as she put one in the back of the net at the 12:34 mark off of assists from
Jaiden Rogers and
Brooklynn Moore. The RedHawks would score late in the third on the power-play, but their fate was sealed, as the Warriors would take the game, 4-1.
Izzy Varner made 24 saves to pick up the win.
Tech (2-1-1) will return to action tonight as they take on Miami University in Oxford. Puck drop is at 3:15 p.m.
