FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The No. 14-ranked Indiana Tech women's basketball team defeated Miami University – Hamilton 110-38, Tuesday morning inside the Schaefer Center on Kids Day.
Emma Tuominen had a game-high 14 points and 10 rebounds while
Erika Foy contributed 13 points and six rebounds.
Bethany Worm chipped in 13 points, seven rebounds, four assists and four steals off the bench while
Kyra Whitaker had 12 points and four assists. All 16 players who suited up for the Warriors registered a point in the win.
The Harriers gook the first lead of the game and traded buckets with Tech over the first two-plus minutes, but a pair of free throws from Foy, who finished the quarter with 10 points, sparked a 12-3 run for the Warriors as they took a 18-6 lead with 4:12 to play in the first quarter. The Orange and Black ended the period on a 15-2 run, with the lone Harrier bucket coming at the 1:50 mark as Tech led 31-10 at the buzzer.
The Warriors continued to dominate in the second quarter with a 23-15 scoring advantage and allowing just one point from Miami-Hamilton through the first four minutes of the period. Tech entered the locker room leading 54-25 and allowed just 13 points over the final 20 minutes of the game while scoring their most points since January 4, 2020 when they also scored 110 against the University of Northwestern Ohio. The last time Tech scored triple digits in a game was January 21, 2021 when they defeated Cornerstone University 101-62.
Tech (3-0) returns to action Friday as they host the Warrior Classic and welcome in Judson University, Mount Vernon Nazarene University and Rochester University. The Warriors will take on Judson at 5:30 p.m. Friday from the Schafer Center while MVNU and Rochester are slated to play at 7:30 p.m.
