GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Men's ice hockey shuts out Calvin 4-0 on the road last night.
The Warriors jumped out to an early start with a goal from
Filip Schultz assisted by
Joel Holmberg and
Bear Ross for the only goal of the first period. Tech led 1-0 coming into the second period and only increased their intensity from there.
Zach Bennett found the back of the net from
Alex Potter and
Cam Chabot to make it a 2-0 lead.
The only penalty of the game was by Calvin that resulted in a power play for the Warriors. Tech capitalized on the opportunity with
Pete Cascagnette scoring his first goal with the Warriors from
Bennett and
Chabot to earn Tech a 3-0 advantage heading into the final period.
Cam Chabot scored the final goal of the game from
Bennett and
Matt Krasny to seal the 4-0 shutout victory for the Warriors on the road.
Bryson Linenburg recorded his first shutout of the season with the win while tallying 17 saves.
The Warriors are back on the ice Friday, February 19
th at 7:30 p.m. against Concordia.
