ATHENS, Tenn. – Baseball comes up short against No. 5 Tennessee Wesleyan on Sunday 4-1.
The Bulldogs opened the game with a run in the first inning and then held Tech scoreless and hitless in the top of the second. The Warriors were able to bounce back and keep the Bulldogs from scoring in the second. In the top of the third
Christian De Los Santos had a single to get on base and advanced on
Ashtin Moxey's hit.
Moxey was caught stealing for the first out and
De Los Santos was left on base for no runs in the third inning for Tech.
The Warriors were down 2-0 in the top of the sixth when
Moxey hit a homerun to score the lone run. Tech was unable to score any more runs and fell to Tennessee Wesleyan 4-1.
Mike Snyder went 1-for-4 at the plate while
Moxey went 1-for-3.
Jacob Alvidrez also was 1-for-3 while
De Los Santos and
Jake Rison also went 1-for-3. The Warriors recorded five hits in the game.
Spenser McGhee pitched 3.0 innings with four strikeouts while
Tyler Stacy pitched 4.2 innings with six strikeouts.
Tech is back in action tomorrow when they travel to Florence, Kentucky for a doubleheader against Georgetown.
