Warriors Lull Lancers for Fifth Shutout

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's soccer team continued its undefeated campaign Saturday afternoon by taking down Grace College 2-0 inside Warrior Athletic Field. Saturday's game marks the team's fifth shutout in six games in an altered 2020-21 season slate.

During an unseasonably warm February, the Warriors ignited the first score of the contest in the 22nd minute of action when Jose Uvidia found the back of the net for the 1-0 advantage. Tech would outshoot their opponents 12-4 in the first half and take the one goal advantage into the break.

The Warriors would keep the Lancers scoreless into the second half of play and gain their second goal in the 79th minute as Noe Garcia converted the Pep Casas assist into a 2-0 score.  In goal, Edwin Rosado finished the contest with 13 saves.

Tech moves to 6-0-0 on the season and will travel to Brighton, Michigan on Tuesday to play Cleary University in the team's first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) contest of the 2021 calendar year. Game time is set for 1 p.m. from the Legacy Center.
