ADRIAN, Mich. – Men's ice hockey traveled to Adrian last night for their third match up with the Bulldogs this season and could not hang on to an early lead and fell 4-1.
The Warriors and Bulldogs held each other scoreless in the first period. Tech held off the Bulldogs during two power-plays while
Bryson Linenburg recorded 16 saves in the first period alone. The Warriors earned the first goal of the game at the 9:18 mark of the second period with
Matej Krasny finding the back of the net from
Zach Bennett. Tech held their 1-0 lead to the end of the second period.
The Bulldogs came out ready to play in the third period and scored two goals within just over a minute of each other before the Warriors dialed up the defense. Adrian led 2-1 and then added two more goals at the 5:42 mark and the 4:39 mark to lead 4-1 with just minutes remaining. The Warriors were unable to drum up any offense and fell 4-1 to Adrian on the road.
Linenburg took the loss while tallying 47 saves while
Michael Barrett of Adrian earned the win with 22 saves.
The Warriors are back home on Friday, February 5
th for their first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference game of the season against Lawrence Tech at 7:30pm.
