Warriors Run Win Streak to 10 with Rout of Aquinas

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The No. 18-ranked Indiana Tech men's soccer team won its 10th straight game Saturday afternoon as they defeated Aquinas College 5-0 at the AQ Athletic Field. It is the eighth shutout of the season for the Warriors, who allowed just two goals all season.
 
How It Happened
  • Tech struck twice in a three-minute stretch as Maxwell Amoako scored in the 23rd minute while Noe Garcia scored the first of his three goals in the 26th minute to go up 2-0.
  • Jaxon Simerman made it a 3-0 game in the 38th minute, while Garcia tacked on his second and third goals in the 71st and 72nd minute to cap the scoring.

  • The Saints had four shots on goal in the first 13 minutes of the contest, but could not get one past Jaume Salvado, who recorded his third shutout of the season and notched a season-best seven saves.
  • It was the second hat trick of the week for Garcia, who also scored three times against Concordia Wednesday and now has 12 goals on the season.
Tech (10-0-0, 6-0-0 WHAC) returns to action Wednesday, March 17 as they travel to Madonna University for a Saint Patrick's Day showdown. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. from the MU Soccer/Lacrosse Field on the Madonna Athletic Complex.
