Tech scored two more in the bottom of the third starting with Alex Vydick getting on base and then Parker Bates coming in to pinch run. Bates stole second to put himself into scoring position before Trevor Patterson singled up the middle to score Bates. Patterson then advanced to second on a bunt from Reese Olden before Mike Snyder singled to left field before advancing to second on the fielder's throw to third. Runners were on second and third with one out when Christian De Los Santos stepped up to the plate.
