Warriors Dominate Blue Devils in Top-10 Matchup

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The No. 2-ranked Indiana Tech men's lacrosse team opened Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) play Saturday afternoon with a 16-5 victory over No. 5-ranked Lawrence Technological University at Blue Devils Stadium.
 
How It Happened
  • The Warriors held a 2-0 lead halfway through the first quarter, but the Blue Devils knotted the game up at 2-2 with 89 seconds left in the period. Justin Hindman put the Orange and Black back on top though with goals at the 53 and 37 second-mark to put the visitors up 4-2 at the end of the first.
  • Hindman netted his third goal just under two minutes into the period while Andrew Ryan's second goal put the Warriors up 6-2 at the half.
  • Tech exploded for five goals in the third and then tacked on five more goals in the fourth to turn the game into a rout in a battle of the preseason favorites in the WHAC.
 
Inside the Box Score
  • Hindman and Ryan both finished with four goals, while the latter had three assists for a game-high seven points.
  • Nate Langille, Emmett Coleman and Samuel Bodley all had two goals each.
  • Andrew Neller went 9-21 in the face-off zone and picked up seven ground balls while Sam Anderson had five ground balls and four caused turnovers.
  • Evan Schuster made five saves in his return to the cage to pick up the win.
 
Tech (6-1, 1-0 WHAC) returns to action on Wednesday as they travel to Aquinas College. Opening faceoff is set for 7 p.m. from the AQ Athletic Field.
