GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Cornerstone ended women's volleyball's four-game win streak yesterday when the Warriors fell 3-0 on the road.

Cornerstone jumped out to a 4-2 lead in the first set and extended it 9-3 before Taylor Paul recorded a kill to give Tech back the serve. The Golden Eagles quickly gained back the serve and led 13-5 and later 16-6. Tech notched two points with kills by Paul and Emma Westra before the two teams began trading points. Cornerstone remained in the lead and won the first set 25-18.

The Golden Eagles led 7-2 in the second set and extended it to 10-3 before Amaya Anderson scored for Tech. Genna Karbowski then recorded a service ace to get the Warriors within five (10-5). The Golden Eagles gained some momentum and went on a 5-0 run to lead 16-7 before the Warriors answered with a 3-0 run to get within six (16-10). Anderson recorded three more kills in the set to try and keep Tech in it, but Cornerstone came out with the 25-17 second set win.

The Warriors led 4-2 in the third set before the Golden Eagles tied it up 4-4. The set was then tied 5-5 before Tech earned a 4-0 run where Madelyn Omo notched two kills for Tech to lead 9-5. The Warriors extended their lead 12-6 and 13-7 before the Golden Eagles took control with a 9-0 run to take a 16-13 lead. The Warriors worked to score three in a row and tied the set 16-16 and again 19-19 before Cornerstone had a 4-0 run to lead 24-21 and eventually won the set 25-22 and the match 3-0.

Omo led the Warriors with nine kill and one block assist with a .438 hitting percentage. Andrea Schriver earned 21 assists with four digs while Jacey Blust recorded 22 digs and three assists.

Tech is back in action on Tuesday, March 23^rd when they travel to Lourdes for a 4 p.m. game.
