FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech softball team went 1-5 over the weekend against Concordia University, Madonna University and Lourdes University, splitting with Concordia in a 7-5 loss and 10-1 win, before getting swept by Madonna and Lourdes, 6-0, 3-2, 7-2 and 1-0.
 
The Warriors churned out 10 hits in the opening game of the weekend Friday against CUAA, but could only manage five runs while stranding five runners over the final five innings of the game. The Cardinals took advantage of four hits and two errors in the bottom of the fifth to overcome a 3-1 deficit and take a 5-3 lead.
 
Tech had everything working in game two as they pounded 13 hits over five innings, including seven in the third that along with two Cardinal errors produced seven runs to make it a 9-0 game. Meghan Berlin provided the big hit with a three-run home run.
 
The Warriors found themselves guessing in game one against Madonna Saturday with just three hits in the opener as they were shutout 6-0 and couldn't overcome a three-spot from the Crusaders in the bottom of the first inning of game two as they were swept.
 
Tech's bats fell silent once again on Sunday against Lourdes as they managed just six hits and two runs over 14 innings in the sweep. Ashley Alvey was the tough-luck loser in game two as she surrendered just four hits and one run in seven innings.
 
Tech (15-25, 5-13 WHAC) returns to action on Saturday, May 1 as they travel to Roosevelt University for a doubleheader. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. ET from The Ballpark at Rosemont.
