FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Women's volleyball opened the WHAC Tournament tonight hosting Siena Heights in the quarterfinals where the Warriors swept the Saints 3-0.

The Warriors dominated from the jump taking a 9-4 lead in the first set and extended it to 13-5 with a 4-0 run. Siena Heights rallied for three points to get within five (15-10) and remained within five at 17-12. Tech responded with three straight points to lead 20-12. The Warriors ended the set with the final two points to win the first set 25-16.

Tech opened the second set with a 3-0 lead and later had a 4-0 run to earn a 10-3 lead with two service aces from Andrea Schriver. The two teams began trading points when the Saints scored three-consecutive to get within six (15-9). The Saints were unable to get any closer and the Warriors won the second set 25-16 to lead in the match 2-0.

The Saints led 3-1 in the third set before the Warriors tied the set 3-3. The set was tied two more times before Tech had a 3-0 run to lead 7-5 with all three points coming from Emma Westra. Each team scored two points before the Saints had a 3-0 rally to take a 10-9 lead. The Warriors responded with two points of their own and after the Saints scored one, Tech scored three more to take a 14-11 lead. The Warriors held the lead for the remainder of the set and won the set 25-19 and completed the sweep of the match.

Olivia Niekamp led the Warriors with 13 kills while Madelyn Omo recorded nine with a .636 hitting percentage. Schriver tallied 18 assists and six digs while Kelsey Schaldenbrand earned 13 assists and seven digs. Jacey Blust led the team with 18 digs and six assists.

The Warriors advance to the WHAC Semifinals that will be held at Cornerstone on Friday, April 9^th.
