Warriors Make Run Through Elimination Bracket, Fall to Shockers in Nail bitter

WYOMING, Mich. – The Indiana Tech men's bowling played its heart out in the final day of the 2021 season as they made a furious run through the elimination bracket at the USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships Friday, but fell just short of a shot in the championship match inside Spectrum Entertainment Complex.

The Warriors started off the championships Thursday with a score of 2,436 (222-178-242-177-219-199-203-203-203-199-223-168) in qualifying to finish tie for seventh place. Tech fell in the first round of match play to the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater 4-0 to end the first day in the elimination bracket.

With their backs against the wall, Tech stormed past the University of Pikeville 4-0 in their first match of the day Friday morning before taking down Calumet College of St. Joseph 4-2 in their third round matchup. The Warriors swept William Penn University 4-0 to advance to the consolation finals against top-seeded and 10-time champion Wichita State University, who had fallen to Emmanuel University 4-0 in the winners bracket, but the Shockers held off Tech in a thrilling 4-3 battle to eliminate the Orange and Black.
